patrols within the city limits. Protection outside the city limits
is provided by the Oconee County Sheriff's Department. Oconee
County is also served by the Athens post of the Georgia State
Patrol.

Oconee County has volunteer fire departments to provide fire safety scrvice to the community.
Emergency Medical Assistance:
Oconee First Responders, under the license of The Emergency Management Service, can attend any
need. St. Mary's Hospital aIso provides ambulance service in the
county.
